I'm a redneck, barefoot, rum and tequila drinking Southern Belle. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up but know that anything involving Margaritas is a top choice.

Raising a granddaughter, caring for a father who lives in my yard and making sure my husband, Mac, has clean underwear for all his travels keeps me pretty busy, but I still have time to scope out recipes I'll never make on Pinterest, make up new words I can use instead of cussing, and pretend I know proper English.

Selfies have come a long way baby!

There’s a lot of criticism surrounding selfies and the reasons behind taking and posting them. There’s also a lot of misunderstanding, fear, guilt and judgment. That part drives me a little bit crazy. To me, a selfie is fun. It’s a way to remember a special moment, or a good hair day.  It’s a way to say, “Hey! I was here!” or just to say, “Hello” and “look what I found”. It’s catching your face in just the right light, looking up at that little dot on a phone and thinking…’this is pretty good. I could like the way I look right here’. 💗 And THAT is what we need much more of….the fun. The “hello” and “Hey” and “check this out” but mostly what we need SO. Much. More. of is the thinking that ‘this is pretty good…I could like the way I look right here.’ 💗 If a selfie will do that, then do it often. Do it every chance you get and look at that image of YOU on your phone every single day and say, “YOU ARE A ROCKSTAR” when you look at it (even if you just whisper it to yourself). . The true story behind the selfies posted all over the world wide webs is never really told….it’s often a mix of perfection, filtered out conceived flaws, or the ragged truth that sets your soul on fire with it’s honesty. .
We don’t have any idea what’s on the other side of that phone, or what’s going on inside the mind of that beautiful face. . What we do know is they had the courage to take the picture and post it. .
And if they used a filter? Good!
 Who doesn’t love looking their very best. Or their funniest.

And if the image you see is one of raw honesty, a soul searching for reassurance in the days that are full of struggles, know the courage it to post that selfie. .
Let’s celebrate the faces instead of judging them.

Let’s give a Hell Yeah, an Amen, an Atta girl, or a You Go to every single selfie we see, no matter the filter, the honesty, the fear, or the pose shown. . Because what we need so much more of is humans showing faces they’ve been brave enough to snap & post. Glitter & Grace, Sasha #selfie
I am Fabulous. Say it with me. I. AM. Fabulous. Now...I’m gonna take a guess and say IF you said it, you didn’t say it out loud. You probably said it to yourself, silently so no one would hear. See, we’ve somehow come to the conclusion that saying good things about ourselves so others can hear them mean we are vain, full of ourselves, and never thinking of others. That couldn’t be further from the truth. There’s no one else standing around clapping for us as we walk by (ok, maybe the occasional clapping as we walk by, but you gotta admit, it’s sorta rare…), or patting us on the back for a job well done (and that JOB is often everyday life that tosses curve balls the size of watermelons, and sends us on roads full of potholes and detours). Nope….we continue on our journey every day, dodging those curve balls, finding a new road and doing our thing. The thought of getting that pat on the back, those accolades, that attagirl, is not really important with everything we have going on (and on and on and on and on…). But here’s the thing…..if WE don’t believe we’re fabulous, HOW ON EARTH WILL ANYONE ELSE? And if we don’t say it, tell it, believe it, and SHOUT it from the highest mountain (and from anywhere else we need to shout it from), NO ONE will know we believe in ourselves, NO ONE will know we are amazing, fabulous, courageous, quirky, entertaining, brilliant, caring, nourishing, radiant, benevolent, celestial, valiant souls that have stories to tell, and life to teach. So….let’s do this again…. Say it WITH me. Out Loud. Proudly. FULL of grace, glitter and goodness…. I AM Fabulous! Glitter & Grace, Sasha #iamfabulous

 Often I hear “You’re always so put together” or “you always look so nice”. 🙌🏻 I work hard to make that happen, and I even enjoy the process. I love to put on my makeup, fix my hair and put on clothes that make me feel good. 🌷

That is most definitely the ‘real me’.💯 ⁣ But this is also the ‘real me’….#nofilter, at the end of a long day, tired eyes settling into wrinkles and lines. That famous hair, which has become an entity in itself, is pushed back from my face, held together with a $5 headband my mama wore in her last months and that I’ve held onto since. ⁣💗 ⁣ My make up has faded after 14 hours of work, play, life and dealing with it all and it’s ready to come off and be replaced with creamy indulgence, smoothing the fine, and not so fine, lines, paying close attention to those tender crows feet and eyebrow creases….sure signs of a life well lived. 🕰
 Or maybe hard lived, too. 🔮
 This #nofilter bathroom doesn’t have shiny surfaces, and matching anythings, instead filled with the necessities of life, including hangars attached to t-shirts in hopes of wrinkles falling out by wear time and a torn shower curtain liner, taped together to keep the water off the floor. ❄️ . But this is #reallife and the #realme and it goes perfectly with the one that gets up every morning and ‘gets ready’ for the day…..makeup, hair and feel-good clothes attached to a confidence gained from years of life dragged over my soul, through my heart and out into the universe….dancing along to the beat that only I hear most of the time…
