I was watching the Country Music Awards the other night and I gotta tell ya ~ the dizzying differences in the women’s costumes was epic. There was velvet, satin, shorts, evening gowns, mini skirts, jeans, dresses and everything else you can think of in between.
Then there were the shoes…the higher the better (unless it was cowgirl boots) and the thinner the heel ~ if i tried walking in some of those, I’d be on my butt in no time flat ~ and just think…they dance, sing, strut and run in those things!! I can only imagine they get a little more practice than I do. Ok, they definitely get more practice than I do because I NEVER wear heels. I tried a pair on last year and couldn’t Take ONE step…so ~ NO. I couldn’t do it…my boots are as good as it gets.
And then….I looked at the guys. 99% of them had on a pair of jeans and cowboy boots. Some had on T-shirts. Some had on a Western Style Shirt…and some a suit type shirt and jacket. But overall, it was a much simpler life for a guy. Huh, just like in real life….
So that made me think about the preparations for this award show as far as fashion goes…..and here’s my take on the conversation taking place between. a female star and a male star….I’ll call them Blake and Miranda, cause….hello!
6 months out ~
Miranda: I think I’ll meet with the designers
Blake: ***Sleeping***
6 weeks out ~
Miranda: I have to go get fitted for my dresses.
Blake: ***Sleeping***
2 weeks out ~
Miranda: I have to buy jewelry and shoes to match all my outfits. I HAVE to go shopping!!
Blake: Hey, can you pick up some beer while you’re out?
1 week out ~
Miranda: I need to try everything on to make sure everything fits good and matches. Can you zip this up and what do you think about this dress? Do you think these shoes will work if I’m singing with Keith? And maybe I should wear this dress when we walk in…what about when I’m presenting…
Blake: I can UNZIP that dress…
BIG day of event ~
Miranda: Ok, the car is coming for the extra dresses to put in the dressing room. I have all my shoes packed and ready to go. I need to get dressed and dolled up for the red carpet…I really hope I remember who made this dress cause I have so many I forgot who designed what!
Blake: Where are those jeans I wore yesterday….

And of course…if it were ME on the red carpet, when they asked who made my outfit, I’d have to say, “Wait, lemme check the labels, I got this off the rack at Steinmart and I can’t remember who made it….probably some child labor in Indonesia….

Well I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one wondering about the assortment of styles on the ladies. I, personally, didn’t think most of the dresses that were worn looked “Country”. .HEELS? No thank you…I did my time with those items of sheer torture. Now I could go on and on about the men – “Eye Candy”, as my daughter calls them. All I needed to complete the night was for Gibbs to walk across the stage (sigh)

I love this! We traded remarks during the CMA Awards Show & I actually had these very same thoughts! LOL! Men just don’t think about “fashion” they just want to get that woman outta that dress 😜 Am I right? I am a jeans & tennies kinda gal. No high heels, but flip flops when I’m not at work. I live in FL, hello? 🌴 thanks for posting this AND please don’t wait so long between posts again 😃🍹

Can you pick up some beer while you’re out? Totally sounds like my house! Except in our case, either of us could be asking it…not just the hubs. Haha
