What is a Sasha?

I’m a Sasha, and I have no idea what that is exactly, but that’s what I am.  That’s the name my granddaughter gave me when she started calling me something other than gibberish and we could put actual sounds to it.  Hey, it’s better than granny, nana or memaw so I’ll be a Sasha any day. You can’t be a Sasha, that’s just the way it is.

So, there’s me (Sasha), the Tater (a 8-year-old terror brat princess blessing) and Mac (my hubby). Mac and I are raising the Tater and lemme tell you ~ that wasn’t in the plans, but we’re making it work.

Yep, I’m a grandmother ~ I know, hard to believe.  But it’s true.  I’m not exactly the grandmotherly type. Heck, I’m not sure I’m the mother type.  Yes, of course Tater has birth parents, we’re just not going to talk about them here.

I write this blog because I have a real life that requires me to be calm, social, somewhat normal and rational.

Since I’m really none of those things and it takes all my willpower, strength and social upbringing to pull this real life off, I needed a place to cuss, throw sarcasm around and tell you what I really think.

Now I think I’ll have another margarita.  And Lipstick….ah, my vice is Lipstick (well, AFTER the tequila and rum of course).  I love lipstick!  You know that stupid game people play where they ask “if you were stuck on an island, what’s 2 things you’d want with you?” and people always say A Boat (duh!) and some person they think they can’t live without?

Yeah ~ I always say lipstick and rum.  Actually, my friends answer for me because they know that’s always the answer.

Hairspray?  Well, I AM from the South and we gotta have some hairspray for all these fancy ‘do’s.

So, Lipstick, Margaritas and Hairspray was born ~ stop by if you’re in the neighborhood.  I probably won’t answer the door, but keep knocking. I like to laugh at you from the living room.

  1. I just found you and am so looking forward to gstating to know you and the other boss moms. No grands here, but so wish I did. The sons both want to be an uncle, but not a dad yet. It was too funny at Christmas to here the younger one try to convince the older that he deserved to be an uncle.ta

  2. I just found you this morning on your live post. You are a hoot. I too have grands that we are helping to raise. Not the plan but a great blessing. I’m retired, an artist and love my wine or bourbon, depends on the day. I’ll be watching.

  4. I love your page on Facebook so I thought I would check out your blog. Awesome. I am Lori, 48 years old in Little Rock, Arkansas. I have 2 sons, 27 and 22 who live about 40 minutes away with their Dad. I guess they don’t intend to ever leave home or procreate. I am fine with this. I am not sure if I want to be a grandma.
I am not longer a daughter. Still in shock over this. My Mom died 19 months ago at the age of 71. Copd is an awful disease. She beat uterine cancer at 62, but was diagnosed with copd in December of 2oo7. Took seven years to kill her.
Daddy’s been gone 14 years. He crossed over in 2002.
Life has gotten strange. I took care of mother the last 3 5 years of her life. Suddenly I was left with no place to go and no money to get there with. I should return to blogging. Mine was on,MySpace..lol. You have inspired me.
    Thanks!
    Lori

  5. Dear Sasha,
I have been following you on Facebook for a couple of years, I stumbled on your page looking for margaritas, love your posts, now I enjoy drinking coffee with you in the morning and listening about your day, your grand daughter, and your husband. You ever come to Colorado, I’ll take you to a place that makes the absolute best margaritas ever.
Thank you for making me giggle everyday, best way to start the day 🙂
