Saturday, Tater and I went to Wal-Mart because going to Wal-Mart on a Saturday just before lunchtime makes perfect sense. Since it was almost lunchtime and there’s a BoJangles in the Wal-Mart parking lot, naturally, we decided to get lunch and take it home. Win for Mac….he actually has lunch, it’s good and he didn’t have to fix it.
I call and get his order ~ 2 piece chicken dinner, dirty rice and okra. Got it.
We proceed to the drive-thru, but Luke Bryan’s “Play it again” is coming on and we pause to sing that at the top of our lungs….PLAY IT AGAIN PLAY IT AGAIN PLAY IT AGAIN. Tater and I LOVE that song. (Yeessss, we pulled over….)
Ok, I digress…we’re in the drive – thru but the speaker is broken and the sign says, “Pull up to order, speaker broken”. That’s how I knew it was broken. Who knew I should have taken a picture??
Now, at this point, it’s important to note there are 2 cars in front of me and there’s a Bojangles employee standing about 2 cars up, on the curb. He has an umbrella and a head set and is talking to people in the cars. I think, “Hmmm, smart that they have someone outside taking orders.”
The car in front of me pulls up and past the employee…guess they were listening to music and didn’t notice him. He comes over to me and looks at me, waiting for me to speak, I guess. I ask him about the car in front of me, and he says, “I guess they didn’t know I was taking orders.” Hmmm, maybe you should ask them? Bless….
When he gets back to my car, I give him Mac’s Order.
He looks at me kinda odd, then says……
“Okra? I don’t know what that is. Is it a vegetable?”
For REAL, Ya’ll. It’s not because they didn’t have it (they didn’t), or that they’re out or they’ve never even HAD it on the menu.
He had NEVER heard of Okra.
“IS THAT A VEGETABLE?”
Wow, just wow.
I was speechless for a full minute (THAT should have been documented….) and told him I just needed a minute to process that.
Bless His Heart, I think I should take him some okra just so he can SEE it….
Lipstick, Margaritas and Hairspray 
go back and ask if they have rhubarb pie..

At the grocery store, the teenage student had to ask me once if I was buying cucumbers or zucchini, when he out it on the scale. Should have answered ” whatever is cheapest!”

Donna Marie ~ I can’t stand the stuff personally, but Mac and my parents Love it….I just couldn’t believe he didn’t even KNOW what it was!! And really….french fries are my favorite vegetable 😉
